Arabica — “The Elegant Noble” This variety currently dominates the specialty coffee market, accounting for approximately 70% of global production. Advantages: Complex and elegant flavor profile, often featuring floral notes, fruity acidity, and caramel sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with relatively low caffeine content (around 1%). Disadvantages: Delicate and expensive, prone to disease, demanding high altitude and climate conditions (typically above 900 meters), relatively low yield, resulting in higher prices. Visual Characteristics: Oval-shaped beans appear elongated when viewed from the front, with a wavy, undulating silver skin (midline) on the back. Color is usually light green or bluish-gray.
